Welcome to Tuesday Tales- A Place Where Books are Born
It's true, it is a place where books are born- a few of my books have started out as Tuesday Tales- Alice's Story for example will be published soon. Thank you all for taking the time to read my writing.
This week we are all writing a story about this picture
The water was colder than she thought and her poor toes screamed for her to take her feet out of the water.
“I told you it would be cold.”
Emmy narrowed her eyes. Thomas was a pain in the neck. She hated his shit eatin’ grin and the way his blue eyes always seem to look deep into her soul. “I don’t know what you mean.” She glanced away.
“I bet your feet are turning purple. Damn, Emmy, you are the most stubborn woman on earth.”
“Well, they will match my eyes then won’t they?” The trees swayed in the wind and the brightly colored autumn leaves danced above her. This was her favorite spot. The water was a splendid shade of blue.
Thomas knelt down on the wooden walkway, his dark hair blew in the wind. She always loved the color of his hair. She wished that she could trade her mouse brown hair with his deep brown. He pulled a red bandana out of his jeans pocket and lifted one foot then the other out of the water. He began to dry them, muttering the whole time.
She shivered and pulled her feet away. “Why are you here?” She swallowed hard. “Why aren’t you with June? I thought you were going to do your wedding gift registry today.” She kept her voice strong, while her heart splintered.
“I decided not to go.”
“June must have been furious.”
He glanced out at the water. “More than furious, I broke it off.”
“Emmy… I didn’t see the tree for the forest.”
“What are you talking about?”
Thomas stared at her. “I love someone else. I have for a very long time.”
First June, and now someone else? “Who?” Her heart dropped, she was going to be sick.
“You, Emmy, you.”
